Head of Platform — Sales Automation (FTE)

What this is about

You build and own the sales automation platform that our delivery team and clients run on every day. Integrations to HubSpot, Instantly, LinkedIn, Claude, plus workflows in n8n, internal tooling, agent pipelines. You work with Claude Code as a pair programmer and bring an engineering velocity a classic senior backend hire can’t match.

CegTec is a GTM Engineering partner for B2B brands in the DACH region. Profitable, bootstrapped, growing. This role is the technical sister of the Head of GTM Delivery position: two senior operators with cleanly split terrain, both reporting directly to the CEO. You own platform and automation, delivery owns the client programs.

Track record in our ICP

Our ICP: complex B2B in the DACH region with deal value from €15k, across several verticals (SaaS, IT services, industrial tech, renewable energy, professional services, MedTech). We expect a strong willingness to learn new topics, your own problem-solving skills and independent work in a fast-changing environment, you have already built comparable GTM infrastructure in production:

  • Production setup, integrations and workflows live in a B2B outbound environment with deal value from €15k, at least one setup with real operator use
  • Operator impact, your automations have measurably saved operator hours or increased meeting volume, with numbers
  • Stack depth, HubSpot or Salesforce, Clay, n8n and Claude Code at production level, not just in side projects

What you own

  • Platform ownership, the entire sales automation platform: architecture decisions, release cadence, stability, performance. You decide what gets built and how.
  • Automation and workflows, n8n flows, agent pipelines, Claude-based tools. You build the levers that make delivery scale.
  • Integrations, HubSpot, Instantly, LinkedIn, Supabase, everything that matters in the GTM stack. Clean robust interfaces instead of fragile scripts.
  • AI coding stack, Claude Code, Cursor and the workflow behind them are your daily tool. You drive them at senior level and set the standard for the team.

What you explicitly do not do

Client delivery and reply triage sits with Head of GTM Delivery. New-client sales stays with the founding team. Frontend pixel pushing isn’t the focus, but you don’t shy away from fullstack pragmatism. Your terrain is platform engineering with sales understanding.

Who you probably are

One of these three stories fits:

  • You built RevOps engineering or GTM tooling inside a B2B mid-market or Series A/B startup (SaaS, IT services, industrial tech or similar), Salesforce/HubSpot integrations, internal sales apps, outbound tooling. Now you want your own platform instead of an internal team.
  • You were a sales or SDR lead who moved technical, Clay, Apify, n8n, now Claude Code. You build your own tools and notice you’re shifting market value with it.
  • You were tech lead at an outbound or GTM agency and operated automation infrastructure across multiple clients in parallel. You want your own P&L and a product that belongs to you.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of senior experience in GTM engineering, sales automation, RevOps engineering or outbound tooling
  • Claude Code mandatory, productively in your daily coding workflow, not “tried once”
  • n8n productively in use, your own flows in production, not just prototypes
  • TypeScript/Node or Python solid, Postgres/Supabase at operator level, API design in your sleep
  • Sales understanding from first-hand experience, you know what an outbound day looks like and which five tools get in the way
  • Brings structure to chaos — platform roadmap, release cadence, documentation set up independently, not on request
  • Operational leadership — has made engineering juniors or working students productive, clear code review and pair programming patterns in place
  • You solve problems at the root, not via workarounds

Bonus

  • Experience with the HubSpot API, Instantly, Smartlead or LinkedIn automation APIs
  • Background in multi-tenant SaaS or agent architectures
  • Open-source contributions or your own GTM tools with real users

What we offer

Cash

  • €65–75k base
  • up to €20k performance bonus on platform metrics (uptime, velocity, adoption)
  • €80–95k total OTE

Equity

  • 2% virtual shares as initial grant, 4-year vesting, 1-year cliff
  • up to 8% performance equity over 3 years, tranched against platform milestones
  • Total equity potential up to 10%

Other

  • Permanent contract with CegTec GmbH Hamburg, remote-first
  • Direct reporting line to the CEO, no middle management
  • Premium AI stack with no limits (Claude Code Max, Cursor, n8n, our own platform infrastructure)
  • Career path: CTO or equivalent senior role within 24 months as the engineering team grows

Selection process

Four steps over 8–12 weeks: discovery call, tech walkthrough of one of your own GTM projects, live pair programming with Claude Code on a real platform task, reference checks and negotiation.
