Full-time internship (6 months): AI software and product

What it’s about

You spend six months full time on the product on which our agents do sales and marketing work. You build real features with AI coding tools, talk to the people who use the product, and learn how a problem becomes a solution that holds up in production.

CegTec builds software for GTM with forward deployed engineers at its side. Profitable, bootstrapped, growing. You do not get a pile of odd jobs, you get your own field of work with a measurable result.

How we work

Every role at CegTec works with AI agents on the same principle:

  1. Set the goal: You define what should be achieved, for example 20 qualified meetings a month.
  2. Agents build: Agents do the work: research, data, drafts, routine.
  3. Evaluate the result: You review what comes out and give clear feedback: good, not good, and why.
  4. Iterate: The agents get better with every round until the goal is met.

That way your time goes where it matters: talking to people, meaning prospects, customers, partners and the team.

What you do

  • Build features — small to medium extensions of the platform (TypeScript, Next.js, Supabase), from ticket to live system.
  • Find and fix bugs — you read bug reports, find the cause and fix it.
  • Product work — evaluate usage data and feedback, describe problems, propose solutions and check their effect.
  • Try out agents — you test new agent capabilities on real cases and document what works reliably.
  • Documentation — what you build is understandable for others.

What you explicitly don’t do

You do not run customer projects or sales. You work under the guidance of the engineering team, but on real code, not on practice exercises.

Who you probably are

One of three stories fits:

  • You study computer science, information systems or something related and want to work on a real product during your internship instead of tagging along in a department.
  • You have built projects on the side and want to see how product development works in a fast team.
  • You come from another field, taught yourself to program, and are looking for your way into practice.

Requirements

  • Enrolled at a university, the internship is a mandatory part of your degree (confirmation from your university)
  • First programming experience, ideally TypeScript/JavaScript or Python
  • Curiosity about AI coding tools like Claude Code and willingness to work with them daily
  • You explain well in writing what you did and why
  • German solid, English good enough for code and documentation
  • Living in or near Hamburg, regular presence in the office

Bonus

  • A project of your own, a repo or a small app we can look at
  • First exposure to databases (SQL) or APIs
  • Interest in product work, not just programming

What you learn

  • How a production system is built and operated
  • How AI agents are built, checked and improved
  • How to work fast and still cleanly with AI coding tools
  • How a customer problem becomes a feature

What we offer

  • Mandatory internship for students, full time, 6 months
  • Hybrid: Hamburg office + remote, living in or near Hamburg required
  • Direct collaboration with the founding team, no middle management
  • Real responsibility from week 1 on our own product or our own pipeline
  • Compensation: €600–900 per month

Selection process

Three steps over 2–3 weeks: short introductory call · practical exercise · offer.
