Connect GTM Goat to Cursor
Cursor reads MCP servers from a JSON file, global or per project.
What you can do with it
- Read your own GTM data: tables, companies, leads, replies
- Create and check sequences and enrol leads
- Start workflows and agents, testable beforehand with a dry run
- Pull metrics: funnel, campaigns, costs

Prerequisite: endpoint and key
You need the endpoint URL and your workspace key. You find the key under Extensions in the web app at app.cegtec.net. The URL is the password: whoever has it has access to the workspace. Keep it out of public repositories and chats.
Connect step by step
-
Add it to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (global) or .cursor/mcp.json (project).
{ "mcpServers": { "gtm-goat": { "url": "https://app.cegtec.net/api/mcp/IHR_SCHLUESSEL" } } }
Replace IHR_SCHLUESSEL with your workspace key.
Is it running?
A good first call is explain_system. The tool returns the system model as structured JSON. If it answers, the connection is up.
Example prompts
Call explain_system and tell me in five sentences what is possible in my workspace.List my sequences and show me with get_campaign_stats which one earns the most replies.Use find_companies to find ten companies that fit my ideal customer profile. Do not enrol anyone before I approve.
Approvals and cost caps still apply
Approvals, workspace isolation and cost caps are enforced on the server. They apply regardless of which agent connects.
